OLIVE LEAF EXTRACT BOOK
back

Early in the quest to find the element in the olive tree that protected it from the invasion of insects and disease researchers determined that it was a compound named OLEUROPEIN. According to botanists oleuropein is present throughout the tree - it's wood, bark and fruit but the highest concentrations are found in the leaves. Several laboratory evaluations have shown oleuropein to be the bitter glycoside present in the pulp of olive fruit (which is actually washed out during processing to make the oil and olives palatable).

By 1969 further molecular analysis had taken place and the main antimicrobial ingredient was isolated by researchers at The Upjohn Company (one of the worlds largest pharmaceutical companies). It inhibited the growth of every human contracted virus, bacterium, fungus and protozoan that it was tested against - this is known in chemistry as ELONOLIC ACID and is formed when oleuropein dissolves in the human body.

There are two forms of elonolic acid produced from oleuropein and they differ from each other in the way they are attached to a carbon atom. Their shape is different and their reflection of polarised light is different - one is left reflected and the other is right reflected - yet they have the same molecular structure. Upjohn were so impressed by their initial findings that they wanted to develop a new strain of antibiotics but during animal trials found that it did not give the same results as in the laboratory. The researchers reported that it bound with serum proteins and became ineffective in the body, a problem they failed to overcome so they dropped the project.

Later research discovered that the left reflected form binds almost 100% to serum proteins whereas the right reflected does not bind and so stays active in the human body to produce the same results as Upjohn found in their laboratories.

East Park Research, producers of EDEN EXTRACT, discovered in 1995 a unique process which concentrates oleuropein which gives right reflected elonolic acid into a 500mg capsule to provide the strongest antimicrobial extract from the olive leaf. Their extraction method so impressed the American patent office that they were granted a patent in January 1998 - perhaps one of a few patents ever granted for a 100% natural product.

EDEN EXTRACT is the only truly therapeutic olive leaf extract as supported by research at the "R" clinic in Budapest, numerous clinical studies, case histories from doctors and hundreds of testimonials from people who have had benefited and reported in the book "Olive leaf Extract" by Dr M Walker.

One report, from a highly reputable major American AIDS foundation who undertake a continuous watch on new therapies, reported in their November 1998 journal that readers who had tried several brands of olive leaf extract reported that they got the best results from that made by East Park Research. Indeed they go on to say that many cheaper brands use only ground olive leaf powder which can upset the digestive tract. Most also use dried olive leaves and the oxidising of the active compounds renders them little or no value. East Park Research use only fresh picked leaves (which regrow each year) from selected groves in California and their patented extraction method gives a pure product without any additives or fillers.

All conventional methods of extraction create a powered concentration whose active ingredients bind rapidly to serum proteins in the blood, rending them virtually useless.

Beware of imitations and insist on EDEN EXTRACT
